Why Citrus Glen?

Leader in Me at Citrus Glen

At Citrus Glen, we believe that every student has the potential to lead. That’s why we’re proud to be a Leader in Me school, rooted in the principles of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Dr. Stephen Covey. Leader in Me isn’t a program—it’s a whole-school philosophy that empowers students to take ownership of their learning, behavior, and growth.

Through daily practice of the 7 Habits, our students build confidence, responsibility, and essential life skills that go beyond the classroom. Leadership happens everywhere—on the playground, in group projects, during conflict resolution, and even in goal setting.

The 7 Habits We Practice:

  1. Be Proactive – I’m in charge of me.

  2. Begin with the End in Mind – I set goals and make a plan.

  3. Put First Things First – I work first, then play.

  4. Think Win-Win – I find solutions where everyone benefits.

  5. Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood – I listen before I talk.

  6. Synergize – Together is better.

  7. Sharpen the Saw – I care for my body, heart, and mind.

From classroom discussions to school-wide events, leadership is woven into our daily routines and culture. Students learn to lead themselves, collaborate with others, and make positive choices that prepare them for lifelong success.

We invite you to partner with us in developing the next generation of thinkers, doers, and leaders—starting right here at Citrus Glen.
